2010 MINNESOTA AFL-CIO SCHOLARSHIPS
and LABOR LEADERSHIP GRANTS

High School Seniors
The Minnesota AFL-CIO offers five $1,000 scholarships for union members (or dependents of union members) whose union is affiliated with the Minnesota AFL-CIO. The applicant must be a present high school senior, planning to attend post secondary school in the state of Minnesota. The 2009 scholarship recipients have been selected. The 2010 scholarship form will be posted in January.

Labor Leadership Grants
The Tobey Lapakko Labor Leadership Grant is available to women who are union members in good standing; the Charles McKenna Leadership Grant is available to men who are union members in good standing.

Grants are available for members of affiliated unions seeking to develop their abilities and skills as union leaders. The grants help defray the cost of classes, programs or conferences sponsored or endorsed by the AFL-CIO or affiliated organizations.

Recipients will be selected by lot by the Minnesota AFL-CIO Education Committee; grant amounts will be determined by the committee.
